FARM LIFE – OCALA, FL
Living in Florida for the winter the past two years has brought so many new and amazing friendships into my life. One of which being Erin and Troy Wismer, two thoroughbred trainers and their little kiddies. I’ve had a thing for horses since I was a child. I would take lessons weekly, but my parents eventually told me I had to make a choice between horses and hockey. Being the Canadian tom-boy I am I chose hockey (which I still play competitively to this day, fun fact). Living on a farm in Ocala, FL was a dream come true for me. My dog and I spent our days walking the paddocks saying “Hi” to our favourite horses. Kip mainly enjoyed eating the feed that hadn’t made it into their mouths and taunting them playfully from the other side of the fence. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss that lifestyle. Thankfully, I shot a ton of film while I was living on the farm and it’s made reminiscing easy. These scans are so near and dear to my heart and I am happy to share them with the world.
SUMMERTIME IN SARATOGA – SARATOGA, NY
I gained a new best friend in Erin from my time down south and when she invited me to spend a week in Saratoga this summer, it was an easy “hell yes” from me. These photographs are just a handful of my favourites from my time spent wandering the race track. I swear I could photograph these animals all day. So if you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or are just into reading these blog posts, you’ll be sure to see more work like this breaking up the wedding and lifestyle normalcy and now you have the back story on why. This world has, and always will have, a special place in my heart. Next stop Kentucky!
